JD(U)

Janata Dal (United), commonly known as JD(U), is a regional political party with its principal political base in Bihar. It was formed through the merger of the Sharad Yadav-led Janata Dal faction, Samata Party and Lok Shakti in 2003, and is led by Nitish Kumar.

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), commonly known as LJP (RV), is a Bihar-based political party led by Chirag Paswan. It emerged from the 2021 organisational dispute within the Lok Janshakti Party founded by Ram Vilas Paswan.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is a Bihar-based political party founded in 1997 after a split in the Janata Dal. Led by Lalu Prasad Yadav, the party is a major political force in Bihar and advocates social justice, secularism, welfare and representation of socially disadvantaged communities.

Communist Party of India

CPI

One of India's historic communist parties, founded in 1925. CPI advocates Marxism-Leninism, workers' and farmers' rights, secularism, social justice and public-sector-oriented economic policies.

A Marxist-Leninist communist party that emerged from the Naxalbari movement and was founded in 1969. CPI(ML) Liberation combines revolutionary Marxism-Leninism with electoral politics, mass organisations and struggles around workers, peasants, caste equality, women's rights and democratic freedoms.

Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) is a Bihar-based political party founded by former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi. It focuses on social justice and representation of Dalits, backward classes and other disadvantaged communities and is a member of the BJP-led NDA.
